A four-time Olympian, Darrell Pace broke five Olympic records at the 1976 and 1984 Games and won two Individual titles.
He first won gold at the Montreal 1976 Games, triumphing in the Individual competition. Eight years later he repeated this success in Los Angeles, where he took a 13-point lead after the first day of the four-day competition and never looked like giving up his lead.
Although individual glory eluded him at Seoul 1988, Pace was part of the silver medal-winning USA team. In addition to his Olympic success, Pace also set multiple world records in the sport and won a series of world and national championships
